FAQ
Where will the interviews be located?
Interviews will be held in the JW Marriott San Francisco, which is a five-minute walk from the Hilton San Francisco where the conference will be located. You will receive a confirmation email with the exact details at least two weeks prior to your interview date.
How should I dress for the interview?
The dress here is business casual, so wearing a suit is not necessary - please dress comfortably.
How will the interview be structured?
You will meet with two economists for thirty minutes each. Interview slots are spread throughout the day and we will do our best to accommodate your scheduling preferences.
What type of questions can I expect?
Your interview will be a combination of Economist case study style questions, problem solving questions along with behavioral style questions centered around Amazon’s Leadership principles
How should I prepare for the interview?
Go back to the basics of problem solving using case studies. Study Amazon’s Leadership principles and come up with written examples of each and how you have brought that forth in your academic or professional career to date. Your recruiter will also send you a prep email to help you prepare.
What are the next steps?
If there's interest on both sides, we invite people to Seattle for full in-person with the hiring managers and several team members. Interviews in Seattle will begin the week of January 18th.
How long do you take to make a decision?
Once we've finished interviewing all of the selected candidates and completed reference and background checks, we try to make a final decision within a few business days.
